Jefferson County, Texas is no stranger to the impact of disaster. In 2017, Hurricane Harvey caused catastrophic flooding throughout our county, leaving thousands of households without basic necessities and many without a place to live while they recovered and repaired their flood-damaged homes. Of the 41 Texas counties receiving a Federal Disaster Declaration, Jefferson County, Texas was the 2nd most impacted county in the state.

Jefferson County Long Term Recovery Group (LTRG) is the local, state and federally recognized Long Term Recovery Group serving Jefferson County, Texas. We understand that a prompt, efficient path to recovery will reduce needless suffering in disaster-impacted communities. We are prepared, connected and innovative in our disaster recovery strategy. Our goal is to lessen the time between disaster and recovery, thereby lessening the suffering of impacted individuals and households.
We work to educate, empower and assist the Jefferson County community in preparing for and recovering from disaster by providing relevant, clear and useful information that's helpful in storm preparation and recovery decision-making. We work closely with our local emergency management officials to assure that our shared messaging is consistent, timely and factual.
