Our Projects

REPAIRING HOMES AND BRINGING HOPE TO HOUSEHOLDS THAT FEEL HOPELESS

We repair homes, provide replacement furniture and appliances, assist with temporary housing, and much more. Some of these homes have been waiting on repair/rebuild assistance since 2017, so the majority of our repair projects are extensive. With the rising cost of construction supplies, they are also more expensive than ever before. We always want to leave a completed project in better condition than it was even pre-disaster, if possible.

We have completed nearly seventy (70) Jefferson County Projects since we launched our mission and programming in early 2022. The majority of our home repair projects sustained major damage in one of the five (5) disasters since Harvey in 2017. Most were completed with the help of valuable volunteers from across Texas and the US. Volunteers provide construction labor at no cost to us or the households we serve. This allows us to stretch our funding dollars to serve more individuals and families.

We have repaired/replaced roofs, subfloor, sheetrock, drywall, cabinets and plumbing. We have installed thousands of feet of flooring and baseboards, performed electrical work, and provided painting (interior and exterior), siding repair and more. We partnered with Texas General Land Office to provide replacement furniture and appliances to qualifying households receiving new construction homes through the GLO's Homeowners Assistance Program (HAP). We completed our own new construction home in December 2022 in Port Arthur, TX.
